In times of conflict or natural disaster, our volunteers are committed to putting our humanitarian values to work, offering practical assistance and support at any time of the day or night.
With more than 100 million volunteers worldwide and 60,000 members and volunteers in Australia, we can reach people and places like nobody else.
Central Coast Services:
* Emergency Services
- Provide personal support (information, support and practical help) in evacuation centres and disaster recovery centres.
* Good Start Breakfast Club
- Operates in 9 schools in the Gosford and Wyong Shires. Volunteers help serve breakfast and provide social support and role modelling to the children.
* Young Parents Program
- Helps young parents who have little family or community support.
* Telecross/Tenant Connect
- Volunteers make a daily phone call to check on the well-being of people who live alone and who may be disabled, frail or medically at risk.
* Social Support Services
- Provides community access and social support to people who are ageing, frail and isolated as well as people with disabilities.
* Community Visitor Scheme
- Volunteers pay a friendly visit to a resident in a local aged care facility.
* Hands On
- Volunteers are trained to provide basic hand care and hand massage services and offer companionship and the sense of touch to socially isolated people.
* Talk Out Loud
-Presentations about mental health issues to school children and young adults.
* Trauma Teddy
- Is a special bear knitted by volunteers and given to children and adults during traumatic times.
* Clubs and Branches
- Enthusiastic groups of volunteers meet to socialise, be informed and discuss things that matter.
* Red Cross Retail Shops - Gosford & The Entrance.
