NSW Government Ageing Strategy Consultations

Invitation to consultations on the development of a NSW Whole of Government Ageing Strategy

The NSW Government has committed to putting in place a Whole of Government Ageing Strategy by July 2012 to ensure that the issues of ageing and older persons are in the mainstream of policy making into the future.

Planning for the Strategy commenced on 15 September 2011 with the Ageing Roundtable. Information on the Roundtable is available at: http://www.adhc.nsw.gov.au/about/strategies/ageing_strategy_consultations

The Roundtable brought together a range of stakeholders to give consideration to three key themes that will support positive ageing:
. Liveable communities
. Participation
. Discrimination, Security and Dignity

At the Roundtable, I committed to a broader consultation process to build upon the work of the Roundtable in the development of the Strategy. I am pleased to invite you to participate in this consultation process.

Time: 9.15am - 12.45pm and 12.30pm - 4.00pm
Venue: Menzies Hotel Sydney, 14 Carrington Street, Sydney NSW 2000

AND

Date: Tuesday 24 January 2012
