Ever wondered how Watanobbi, Toukley, Charmhaven, Chittaway, Wyong or other local towns, streets roads, lanes and districts got their names?
Many of the names actually came from prominent residents of the past. And, these 'Faces of the Streets' often are a fascinating story in themselves.
Now, local history buffs and those who are just plain interested in the origin of their locality, have an opportunity to learn more about the subject, thanks to Tuggerah library.
In early September, the many tales behind our streetfronts will be discussed by Council's own Phil Morley at an information session in the library.
Phil will be the guest speaker at the session, from 10.30am on Wednesday, September 8 - and somebody is bound to ask him about Watanobbi.
Entry will be free of charge, although bookings are essential by telephoning (02) 4350 1560.
Pass the word: this should be an interesting Council event.
