Disaster Relief Managers Position

Disaster Relief Manager Samaritan's Purse Australia/New Zealand

Location: Sydney Australia

Our vision is to be able to respond in a meaningful and timely way, to provide material and practical assistance in the recovery phase of every major disaster in Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia Pacific region.

We are seeking to appoint a Manager to head up a new Disaster Relief department modeled on the very successful disaster relief unit of Samaritan's Purse International Headquarters in the USA.

Summary of qualifications and experience:
. Agreement and compliance with the Samaritan's Purse Australia Statement of Faith policies.
. Be able to interact well in cross cultural situations.
. Demonstrate spiritual and personal maturity to represent the organisation well.
. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
. Ability to initiate, develop and maintain networks.
. Knowledgeable in disaster relief protocols is desirable.
. Effective public speaking and written communication skills.
. Experience in Disaster Response - example, in SES or firefighting services would be desirable.
. Hardworking, resourceful, flexible, dedicated and willing to lead by example by "rolling up sleeves" and doing what is needed in a situation to get the task accomplished.
. Experience in training of employees or volunteers in a work place environment.

Certificates, Licenses, Registration required: Valid passport, Driver's license, a current criminal background check to be provided to SPA Human Resources, Medical report certifying that candidate is fit for the demands of the role.
. The following licenses and certificates would need to be acquired by successful candidate once employed by SPA:
o
Chainsaw Operations (level 1) Certificate, Fork Lift License, Working at safe heights certificate, White Card (card to work on construction sites).
