Central Coast Disability Network
CCDN has a gentleman who is interested in obtaining some part-time employment.
He has an extensive knowledge of the disability sector, including voluntary experience as a Board member. He holds business/administration qualifications, has a great sense of humour and is a great advocate for people with a disability.

Criminal Justice Support Network
The Criminal Justice Support Network are looking for volunteers who are interested in supporting people with an Intellectual Disability or Acquired Brain Injury who become involved with the Police and Courts, either as a person who has been arrested, or they may be a victim or a witness to a crime.

IDRS provide this service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Clients and Police are able to call a toll free number - 1300 665 908

Carer Support
Applications for the 2010 Carers Week grants program are new being accepted.
National Carers Week takes place from Sunday 17th October to Saturday,23rd October this year. "National Carers Day out" will be held on Tuesday 19th October.
The program, funded by Ageing, Disability and Home Care, Department of Human Services NSW (ADHS) will provide eligible carer support groups and organisations across NSW, with funding of up to $250 to organise an event or activity for carers during Carers Week.

To apply for a Carers Week grant simply complete the 2010 Carers Week application form and post to Carers NSW by Friday 6th August 2010.
Application forms along with other Carers Week information can be downloaded from the Carers NSW website: www.carersnsw.asn.au or can be requested by emailing wendyc@carernsw.asn.au

House with No Steps
The House with No Steps are giving Young Carers who are caring for/living with someone with mental illness time out to study. Services are provided free of charge to eligible applicants:
- A home like environment with 24 hour support
- All meals, activities and laundry
- Transport to/from school and/or extra curricular activities as needed
- Support to navigate Board of Studies websites and study assistance if required.

Headspace@ycentral
Headspace Central Coast are changing their hours so that they can continue to provide quality services to young people aged 12-25years.

8.30am - 5pm (Monday to Friday) for BOOKED APPOINTMENTS ONLY
1pm - 4pm (Monday to Friday) for Drop in and new referrals
8.30am - 5pm (Monday to Friday) for changing or cancelling an appointment.

Seasons for Growth
A program dealing with loss, grief, family separations and life changes for children and adolescents cause immense trauma which can have long lasting effects. This program addresses these issues for children and adolescents.

This website provides information about respite services on the Central Coast. NSW Health
NSW Health, Multicultural Health Communication Service's website contains downloadable info sheets on accessing and using NSW Health services in community languages including Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Hindi, Khmer, Korean, Somali and Vietnamese. Topics covered include: Child-care, counselling, emergency services, general health information, requesting to see female staff, rights and responsibilities.
