The deadline has been extended for the prestigious, 17 month, 59 day leadership program - the Australian Rural Leadership Program - Course 18 (starting May 2011)
The Australian Rural Leadership Program (ARLP) aims to produce a network of informed, capable and ethical leaders who are able to work collaboratively to advance the interests of their industries, communities and rural Australia in general. The program works to improve the capacity of rural leaders to engage wherever a challenge is best addressed and wherever they can contribute most effectively. This may be within communities and industries, in the political arena or in team-based roles.
The Australian Rural Leadership program has a number of scholarships for Indigenous leaders:
Santos sponsors one place for a leader in their regions: Gladstone and South Australia
DAFF sponsors an Indigenous leader from rural, remote or regional Australia
Department of Local Government - WA has one scholarship for a rural, remote or regional leader from WA
Torres Strait Regional Authority has two scholarships for Torres Strait Islanders.
Applicants do not need to nominate their scholarship - successful candidates are matched against available scholarships.
Applications close 10 September 2010.
