Funding is available under the Community Aged Care Workforce Development Program - Specialised Training, to provide 1,000 training places for workers from a culturally and linguistically diverse background and 1,000 training places for workers from an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background.
The funding available is to provide training in the following nationally-recognised qualifications:
- Certificate III in Home and Community Care; and
- Certificate IV in Home and Community Care
and may cover backfilling salary costs for staff attending training.
The target group for training is community care workers who are from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander or culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, who deliver care to recipients of community aged care, EACH and EACH D packages.
Directions Australia has been engaged to deliver this training nationally. Eligible providers are encouraged to identify staff that would benefit from this training.

- Henge Education - MacDonnell and Alice Springs regions; and
- STEPS Training - Central Desert and Barkly regions
