The Under 15's National Kickstart championships are just around the corner.
This is an opportunity for Indigenous boys to receive exposure to the Talent Pathway Programs, AFL Clubs and their Indigenous players, Leadership, Health, Education and Life Skills. They will also be able to showcase their ability to further their own football careers and/or to become future leaders within their communities.
This years will see 23 Indigenous boys from NSW/ACT represent their state and play against QLD, VIC/Tas, NT, SA and WA.
Players will be selected based on the following criteria:
1. Leadership qualities
2. Attitude and behaviour
3. Sporting/Football Skills
Details are as follows:
. Depart Sydney Monday 9 April 2012 2012 - Return to Sydney Friday 13th April.
. Competition will be held on the Gold Coast.
. There will be a player levy of $100 per player.
. All costs will be covered for Championships including accommodation, flights and meals whilst away.
. Players will need to make their own way to the airport. Flights will be leaving from Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne only.
At the conclusion of the carnival on the Gold Coast, 25 boys will be selected to become the 'Flying Boomerangs Football Team' and will travel overseas and represent and play for their country and people in 2012.
If you can commit, or know of a talented Indigenous male footballer that is under 15 or born in 1997 that will be able to commit to the above requirements, please contact me.
