Event Details

The federal Department of Human Services (Human Services) in partnership with the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) is holding a series of Jobs and Skills Expos across Australia as part of the Australian Government's Building Australia's Future Workforce package.

The Expos provide a vehicle for employers, industry groups, recruitment and training providers to participate in a local community event that provides people with access to job vacancies, training opportunities, and other related local support services.

This will be a great opportunity for employers and training providers to promote and effectively fill job vacancies and training spots - a real 'Jobs and Skills Marketplace'.

The event will be extensively publicised and all local job seekers will be sent a personal invitation to attend. Human Services is also working with local media to maximise public awareness of the Jobs and Skills Expos.

In 2009 and 2010 a total of 40 Jobs and Skills Expos were run across Australia with over 150,000 job seekers and well over 3000 exhibitors attending. Over 15,000 job seekers were connected to job opportunities and many more were connected to skills and training opportunities.

For more information about the Expos, visit humanservices.gov.au/expos or contact the Business Hotline on 13 1158.
